What if you have to speak before a crowd in your company or in a GD round during your selection process for your dream company and you stammer? What if because of only not being able to address a gathering you are kicked out of your company or not selected as one of the candidates to join the company?
So, here I am listing some public speaking tips for you which will surely help you to never face such a situation.
1> Self confidence
Never be disheartened or tensed to present before a crowd. Be self confident and always speak what you have in your mind or whatever you have prepared for. Self confidence is always considered as the 1st key to success and so I do agree with the fact as well.
You should have the appropriate matter, content and style for presenting. That includes, you should know about the audience, their age group and their living standards before you go to present as this always helps in selecting the appropriate content. You may never wish to present before a CEO of the company when you were prepared to face only your colleagues; that's the difference.
Start with a proper greeting and the right and comfortable way for you to address the gathering.
Be organized. That includes, you should be attractive, meaningful at any point of time and clear and crisp. You should not just divert from your topic of presentation. Always be prepared. The best way to prepare is: give yourself a mock before actually presenting it before someone.
Make an introduction on what are you presenting before you start off. That helps the people to set their minds and listen what you'll be talking about.
Always open with a quotation or an example or definition. This is always attractive.
7> Major parts
Prepare note cards if you wish too. This may include the major parts to be covered by you during your presentation.
8> Be logical
Never try to fake, or give illogical answers to any queries. People may easily catch you. So, always be logical.
9> Active speaker
Be more of an active speaker than a passive one. In other words, always try to use direct speech than going for indirect.
10> Real life examples
Quote examples from real life. This helps the crowd to actually feel that you are telling them something fruitful and something worth.
Always end with a letter of appreciation for the platform you got. Always end by saying "THANKS". This is for you as well, because this shows that you are complementing yourself for having spent your time to present before a crowd. This shows self-confidence and positivity in you.
So, this is with what I can help you to present yourself. I certainly hope that these are of key importance for you. All the best.
