In my last blog I discussed about criterion, Procedure, registration process, total selections etc. for TCS recruitment campus drive..
Students had to give an aptitude test of 80 minutes in which 35 questions were there. The cut-off of the test was predecided. Believe me the cut-off depends on their mood, how much they want to recruit from your college.
Well the students clearing the test were elligible for their interview process.
The top 5 students of 5 branches i.e. ECE, CSE, IT, MECH, CIVIL were allowed to appear for interview directly without any aptitude test.
I am at the 5th position in ECE branch so I didn't have to give test..
Interview process had two rounds - Technical round and HR round.
First of all all the top 5 students were called for the technical round of interview.
I had to wait for some time after the interview room as interviews of other students were also going on. Then my turn came and I took a long breathe before entering the room. It was very cold.(well I prepared for technical round, but no technical questions were asked from me in technical round. While they asked technical questions related to C, Microprocessor, Data structure etc. from other students.)
Me: Good morning Sir.
HR: Good morning, have your seat please.
me: thank you sir.
HR: why all students are coming without wearing any sweater or jacket.
me: Sir it doesn't matter. I'm now entering into professional life, so I don't have care about these things. I tried to look as professional as I could.
HR: Good, So Laveesh, tell me about yourself.
me: starting with my name I told him some of my qualities confidently.
HR: tell me your two strengths and weaknesses.
me: told confidently.(everything I said, he told me to give an example of that.)
HR: Explain your Project
Then he put a lot of questions regarding my project's completion and my progress if they give me certain amount of time limit.
He asked me lot more other questions which were purely HR based, nothing looked technical in those.
HR: are you having any mobility constraint.
me: no sir, I am ready to go anywhere to work with TCS.
Then he asked me whether I wanted to ask any question about TCS.
I asked him two questions. He answered them with his full interest and was also happy to know my interest in TCS.
HR: any more questions laveesh?
me: no sir.
HR: Well laveesh, Thank you, we'll like to see you in TCS soon.
me: Thank you sir.
And then I left the room.
Then we were told to wait in a room, names of students were being called for HR round. Some of the students not qualifying the technical round were informed.
I was waiting for my name, finally I was called, I got relieved.
Then I entered the HR interview room. There was a female HR.
me: good morning ma'am.
HR: good morning, sit down please.
She asked me about myself and why i wanted to join TCS. I answered them.
HR: why do you think you are fit for TCS?
me: told some of my qualities that match their criterion.
then she asked me few questions about team formation, qualities of a team leader, difficulties in forming a team etc.
I answered them confidently.
HR: Ok, thank you.
I thanked her too and left the room.
After completion of all the students' interviews, they declared results, Total 51 students got selected and I was one of them.
