Freshersworld :: Campus Fests - PALLAVI 09 on feb 21, the largest college cultural extravaganza

Madan Mohan Malaviya Engineering College, Gorakhpur (UP) is organizing its 12th annual techno-management festival, techSRIJAN 2k9, scheduled from 31^st Oct to 2^nd Nov, 2009. Established in 1962, MMMEC is counted as one of the best institutions of its kind in the state. Forty-three batches of students have entered its portals to emerge after four years of rigorous education under the tutelage of some of the most venerable teachers, engineers ready to face the world and create new worlds.

Since the inception of techSRIJAN in the year 1999, the event has come a long way and has cast a niche for itself with its quality of events and level of competition. The robotics event held under the name roboKRITI has become a brand in itself for the kind of technology and innovation at display (not to forget the immense enthusiasm). Among various other events, techPRASTUTI (technical paper presentation), hardRACHNA (open hardware presentation) and softRACHNA (open software presentation) help give vent to relevant ideas that promise to shape our future. Besides, events like techSHILP (on the spot designing competition) and bizBUZZ (business plan presentation) bring out the innovative as well as aesthetic side of budding technocrats. This coupled with various quiz and fun events fill the potpourri that forms the mega event.

But this time around, the event will also comprise of Junkyard Wars and ab-initio (Rube Goldberg challenge). Just to appreciate the magnitude it may be quoted that last edition of techSRIJAN saw participation of more than 5000 participants from all across the country. This edition will also give away prizes worth Rupees 2 lakh.

This edition of techSRIJAN will also witness guest lectures from luminaries like Dr. R B Srivastava (Director, DRDO Delhi) and Dr. M V Pitke (MD, Nichiken Tech and Founder of TechMahindra, formerly Axes Technology). Apart from this, techSRIJAN 2k9 will hold workshops on autonomous robotics and 3D Animation in association with Techniche 09, IIT Guwahati. Among all this serious stuff there is a puff of fun with a state-of-art laser show promising to leave everyone mystified.
