Hi all, I am Sandeep. I completed my b.tech from Amrita School of engineering.I passed out in the year 2009. Our placements took place in the third year.Wipro was the third company to come for placements. Wipro had a three stage placement procedure. We had an aptitute test. Those who cleared the aptitude test where called for a technical interview. Clearing this round will qualify you for the HR interview. Before the aptitude test we where left with two options. Either we could opt for VLSI or Software Programmer. The aptitude test was same for both but the interview was different. Regarding the Aptitude test,it had three parts:Usual aptitude questions,Verbal ability and Technical questions.Aptitude questions and technical questions covered the most part of the paper. Aptitude questions were the same Agharwal model questions. Technical part had questions like predicting the output. The number of verbal questions were much less.

The technical interview was pretty much simple. I was asked to write a program. Then same program was asked write using inline functions. Then there where questions like usage of static variable and i was asked to write a program showing the usage of static variable. There was also a question to predict the output.

Well, I passed out in the year 2005 and the scenarios whould have changed by now. But still, in those days, I was selected for Wipro and I am just writing my experience. We had a written test which was pretty simple considering the fact that most of the experiences were already available on Freshersworld.com. The test paper was a mix of technical, aptitude and English vocab. I cleared the test and I was called for the interview. I did Mechanical Engg, but I was asked in the interview if I knew any Computer Engineering subject. I said C++ and networking. I was asked questions about OOPs concepts, stacks, queues and linked lists. Then the interviewer asked me what my favorite subject was. I said Thermodynamics, but the interviewer did not ask me anything from that topic. Instead, he asked me about lathe machines and different types of lathe machines in our workshop. After clearing this round, I was called for an HR round and I was asked to talk about my interests and hobbies. Thats it! I was selected and I worked with Wipro for 1.5 years. It was a rewarding experience. The whole point is that the interview differs from people to people and also depends on the interviewer. If you have decent communication skills and also you have done your homework with respect with basic subjects, interviews are not tough to crack.
