Indian citizens (Men) having following qualifications can appear for selection as per procedure mentioned below.

|Asst Commandant Commercial Pilot License (CPL) Holders for (Short Service Appointment) as Helicopters and Fixed wing pilots for Period of 8 years, which may be extended to 10 years and further extendable upto 14 years.||12th class passed or equivalent with 60% marks and should possess current Commercial Pilot License(CPL) on the date of selection.||Born between (01 Jul 84 to 30 Jun 92)|
|Asst Commandant Technical Branch (Mechanical)||Degree with 55% marks in aggregate in Naval architecture Marine/Mechanical /Aeronautical/ Production Engineering or equivalent qualification in any of the above discipline recognised by AICTE.||Born between (01 Jul 81 to 30 Jun 90)|
(a) The Candidates failed in Pilot Aptitude Battery test (PABT) or suspended from flying
training at Air Force Academy cannot appear for GD(P/N).
(b) The upper age limit for OBC/SC/ST is relaxable as per Govt. of India rules in vogue.
(c) The candidates who have already appeared in PSB/FSB in response to previous Coast Guard advertisement within last three months are not to appear again.
(d) All candidates are required to submit original educational certificates and mark sheets latest by 10 Dec 10 if selected.
Medical Standard :
(a) Height in Cms
(i) Asst Commandant (GD/Tech) : 157 cms minimum, may bereduced by 5 cms in the case of Nepalese, Assamese( including those from Nagaland, Mizoram, Meghalaya, Arunachal Pradesh, Manipur and Tripura)
Garhwal, Sikkim, Local tribes of A & N islands and 2 cms in case of candidates from Lakshadweep, mainland settlers in Andaman and Nicobar.
(ii) Asst Commandant GD(P/N)/CPL Holders : Min 162.5 cms and maximum 197 cms, leg length 99 cms.
(b) Weight Proportionate to the Height and Age, + 10 % acceptable.
(c) Chest Well proportionate, minimum expansion 5 cms.
(i) Asst Commandant (GD) : 6/6(Good Eye) 6/9 (Bad Eye) without glasses.
(ii) Asst Commandant GD(P/N)/ : 6/6(Both Eyes) without glasses CPL Holders
(iii) Asst Comdt(Tech) : 6/12 (Good eye) and 6/36 (Bad eye)
Note : Candidates with above medical standards only to appear for the selection.
(a) Registration - Registration will be carried out on the spot between 0800 hrs and 1100 hrs on 12 and 13 Nov 2010 at CGSB, Noida, for branches as indicated above.
(b) Eligible candidates will appear in Preliminary Selection on the same day which will consist of Mental Ability test. All candidates clearing MAT will undergo PPDT(Picture Perception and Discussion Test). Qualified candidates of Preliminary selection, will undergo Final Selection which will consists of Psychological Test, Group Testing and Interview (Personality Test). All selected candidates will undergo Medical examination at Base Hospital/AFCME , Delhi.
(c) GD(P/N) candidates on qualifying FSB will be required to appear for PABT at Dehradun AFSSB.
