Taking the total number of employees to 2000, Global IT service provider, Capgemini, on Wednesday said it will hire 500 people in India for its Business Information Management (BIM) service line this year. The company has employed 5000 people globally.
"We have 1,500 professionals in India and plan to hire 500 more for our business information management (BIM) service line by December 2010," Capgemini's Global Leader, Business Information Management, Paul Nannetti, told to the media.
With global and local clients in its pocket, Capgemini handles 70 clients. Planning to make India its global hub for innovation, Capgemini will start eight more Centers for Excellence (CoE) by December 2010.
"We currently have 12 CoEs operating in India and we will start eight more CoEs to increase the total number to 20 by December 2010," he said.
"India is at the heart of innovation for Capgemini. We have been investing significantly in our centers of excellence, which are catering to global clients. These innovation hubs are helping us bridge the gap between business and technology and building immense value to the overall growth of the group," he added.
