Outstanding CVs

A successful resume is all about attention to detail. Spacing, layout and punctuation is as important as content, experience and description when it comes to catching the eye of your potential employer – yet everyone knows this. What’s the best way to make sure that your resume stands out and gets noticed?

It’s the interesting details that often catch your future employer’s attention. Just as a description of your hobbies or interests can go a long way to describing the type of personality and character that you have, so too can above-average life experiences.

Take languages, for example. Whilst it’s crucial to note down if you speak a second or third language, and which languages they are, it’s also handy to add details like having studied at a French course France, an English summer camp or a German course Switzerland . Even though these languages might not be directly related to the position, it goes a long way to indicate that you’re the type of individual ready to learn and committed to the education process. It also reveals that you’re out-going and willing to try new opportunities, as well as having an eye on international goals. Your French, English or German language studies are all relevant when it comes to the language of the job search.

If you wish to specify that you studied at a French course Montreux or a French course Lyon , even better for your application. Don’t go into too much detail however, just mention your relevant experience and the location and see how it goes from there! International study and travel programs are a great way to get your resume noticed, yet that’s not all. Enjoy the chance to study abroad, progress in your chosen language in its native context and who knows, perhaps your studies will pay off and prove to be a valuable experience when it comes to launching your new career.
