The Institute invites application from eligible candidates for the
award Scholarships for the year 2005-2006.Fellowships - 2 :
Professors/Readers/Senior Lecturers from Indian Universities to work
in the Institute either for the whole academic year or for specific
term as the case may be. Fellowship is for a period of two years at
the first instance. Fellowship amount will be equivalent to the
salary as he/she was drawing before the award. The Selected Fellows
are expected to work in Mysore. The other allowances, would be paid
as per existing rules with reference to place of duty i.e.Mysore, If
he/she is in the service of Government or of any organization other
than a university, his/her status shalll be equated with that of a
Lecturer, Reader or Professor under a University and the salary
payable to him shall be fixed accordingly for purpose of the
fellowship amount. It is equal to the emoluments drawn as salary by
the awardees excluding CPF contribution, in their respective
departments. The selected Fellow (he/she) will also eligible to
contingency grant of Rs.5000.00 only per annum
Scholarships leading to Ph.D degree : 5
Post-graduate who have cpmpleted their MA in Indian Languages /
Linguistics or allied disciplines and are interested in pursuing
interdisciplinary research leading to Ph.D Degree at the Institute
in Mysore or in any other University. Qualification : First or high
second class Masters Degree in Linguistics or allied disciplines.
Tenure of the Scholarship : Maximum period of two years.
Age: Not more than 30 years as on April 30,2004.
Scholarship Amount :Rs.5000.00 p.m. with NET. Rs. 4000.00 p.m
without NET.
Contingency Grant : Rs.5000.00 per year.
Note: The short-listed applicants may have to take a test (to be
held at CIIL, Mysore) followed by an interview. However, the
candidates with NET will be exempted only from the written test, not
interview. The original documents/testimonials/certificates will
have to be produced at the time of interview.
It may also be noted that the candidates will not be paid TA/DA,
etc., by the Institute and they will have to appear for the
test.viva-voce at their own cost.The Institue, however, will
consider providing hostel accommodation to the outstation candiates
atconcessional rate per person per day if a written request is sent
to the undersigned in advance.
Scholarships for Students belonging to Scheduled Tribes - 5 :
For pursuing the following courses in Linguistics : M.A. - 3
Rs.600.00 p.m. Contingency grant : Rs.1000.00 for the course.
M.Phil - 1, Rs.1000.00 p.m. Contingency grant Rs.1000.00 for the
course.
Ph.D - 1, Rs.1000.00 p.m. Contingency grant Rs.2000.00 for the
course ( No written test or interviews are contemplated for these
candidates)
The duly filled application may be sent through the guide/Supervisor
super scribing, as Application for Scholarship leading to Ph.D
degree/ Tribal Scholarship/Fellowship by designation only either to
the Director or Assistant Director(Admn), Central Institute of
Indian Languages, manasagangotri, Mysore - 570 006 on or before
February 28, 2005
