The Dr. GB Scholarships Foundation
Recognizing the need for social connect with the future
technology generation KGISL has instituted, as its first
endeavor, a sponsored Scholarship for budding talent in the
Information Technology education. The scholarship purports
to identify deserving bright candidates who intend to pursue
an IT career and support their education with a one-time
scholarship of Rs. 25000/- towards furthering their
opportunity in quality IT Education.
Who is eligible to apply for the Scholarship?
Students currently in the final year of undergraduate
education, in programmes that will qualify them for
admission to post-graduate education in Computer
Applications / Information Technology (BCA, B.Sc. Computer
Science, B Com, B.Sc. Mathematics, etc.) Students who have
consistently maintained a good academic record in the UG
programme (60% and above average grades / Nil arrears )
Students who specifically intend to get admission at one of
the recognized institutions for Postgraduate education in
Information Technology / Computer Applications.
How to apply?
Qualifying candidates should be nominated by the Head of the
Institution, the student is currently studying, in the
prescribed application form (available with the head of the
institution / to be downloaded from our website) and forward
his application through the institution to the foundation.
Each Institution can nominate a maximum of 10 such students
for the consideration of the foundation to the scholarship.
Selection Process
Students so nominated by their respective institutions will
have to present themselves for a Primary Evaluation
Programme (PEP) at KG Campus Saravanampatty, Coimbatore. The
PEP will comprise
* a written aptitude test
* a psychometric evaluation of the student
* a basic IT skills evaluation
* English Language Skills Testing (written & Spoken) *
Rational thinking evaluation
The top 100 qualifying candidates will be invited to
participate in a IT Quiz event that will add to their
qualifying score for their final scholarship. (The quiz will
comprise a written semi-final round and a on stage final
round.)
Invitations to visit KG Campus for PEP & Quiz event will
be notified separately and through our website.
Scholarship Plus FASTTRACK Programme
KGISL will further support the case of awarded scholars by
placing them on the fast-track programme which will entitle
them to
Preferred status for summer placements and projects at KGISL
and associate infrastructure
Preferred status for Campus Jobs at KGISL
Preferred status admission to KGISL sponsored IT / ITES
career education
Sponsored projects.
Sponsored events (project / paper presentations at national
and international IT seminars / symposiums
All aspirants to the scholarship who visit the KG Campus for
the Primary Evaluation Programme (PEP) will be hosted for
the day and will take back a T-shirt as a memento.
