Indian Air Force offers opportunities for Unmarried Male Indian Citizens from all Islands of Union Territory of Lakshadweep to join as Airmen. The Recruitment Test for Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades and Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Trades {except Auto Tech, GTI, IAF(P),IAF(S),Med Asst & Musician Trades}will be held at Government Higher Secondary School, Kavaratti, Lakshadweep Island

Qualification :

(a) Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades : (i) Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent examination with Mathematics, Physics and English with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. OR (ii) Passed Three years Diploma Course in Engineering, as shown below, from a Government recognized Polytechnic Institute with 50% marks in overall aggregate, and 50% marks in English in Diploma or in Intermediate/Matriculation, if English is not a subject in Diploma Course. (aa) Mechanical Stream:- Mechanical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering (Design & Drafting),Mechanical Engineering (Foundry Technology),Mechanical Engineering (Machine Tool Maintenance and repairs),Mechanical Engineering (Refrigeration & Air Conditioning),Mechanical Engineering (Tool & Die),Mechanical Engineering (Production),Mechanical Engineering (Fabrication Tech),Mechanical Engineering (CAD/CAM Design & Robotics),Mechanical (Advance Manufacturing Technology),Manufacturing Engineering/Technology, Production Engineering, Automobile Engineering, Advanced Diploma in Refrigeration & Air Conditioning, Mechatronics. (ab) Electrical/Electronics/IT Stream:- Electronics, Applied Electronics, Electronics & Communication Engineering, Electronics (Microprocessor),Electronics and Avionics, Electronics (Fibre Optics),Electronics (Robotics),Electronics and Instrumentation Engineering, Electronics & Telecommunication Engineering, Industrial Electronics, Electrical Engineering, Electrical & Electronics Engineering, Instrumentation Engineering/Technology, Instrumentation and Control Engineering, Telecommunication Engineering/Technology, Information Technology, Computer Engineering, Computer Science & Engineering, Computer Science & Technology.

Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) Trades {except Auto Tech, GTI, IAF(P),IAF(S),Med Asst & Musician Trades) : Passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English. Note - 1: Boards recognized/affiliated by Council of Boards for School Education (COBSE) will only be permitted. Note - 2: Exact aggregate % of marks before decimal as written in the marks sheet of 10+2/Intermediate/Equivalent OR calculated as per the rules of concerned Education Board will only be considered (For example 49.99% should be taken as 49% and not to be rounded off to 50%).

Pay & Allowances : During training, a stipend of Rs. 11,400/- per month will be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Grade Pay, Military Service Pay (MSP),Group ‘X’ Pay {applicable for Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades only}and Dearness Allowance (DA) will be as follows:-

(a) Group ‘X’ (Technical) Trades. Rs. 26,685/- per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.

(b) Group ‘Y’ (Non-Technical) {Except Automobile Technician, GTI, IAF (P),IAF(S),Med Asst and Musician}Trades. Rs. 23,535/- per month (approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.

Date of Birth Block :Candidates born between 07 July 1997 and 20 December 2000 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally

Medical Standards :(a) General Medical Standards are as follows: - (i) Chest: Minimum range of expansion: 5 cm (ii) Weight: Proportionate to height and age. However, minimum weight of 55 Kg required for Operations Assistant (ATS) Trade only. (iii) Corneal Surgery (PRK/LASIK) not acceptable. (iv) Hearing: Candidate should have normal hearing i.e. able to hear forced whisper from a distance of 6 meters with each ear separately. (v) Dental: Should have healthy gums, good set of teeth and minimum 14 dental points. (vi) Health: Candidate should be of normal anatomy without loss of any appendages. He should be free from all communicable diseases and skin ailments. Candidate must be physically and mentally FIT to perform duty in any part of the world, in any climate and terrain.
