ASI (Stenographer)/ Head Constable (Ministerial) Job vacancies in Border Security Force (BSF)

Assistant Sub Inspector (Stenographer)

No. of Posts : 36 (SC-12, ST-24)

Pay Scale : Rs. 5,200-20,200 with grade pay Rs. 2800/- in pay band - 1 (Pre-Revised)

Head Constable (Ministerial)

No. of Posts : 121 (UR)

Pay Scale : Rs. 5,200-20,200 with grade pay Rs. 2400/- in pay band - 1 (Pre-Revised)

Qualification : Intermediate or Senior Secondary School Certificate (10+2) examination from a recognized Board or University or equivalent.

Skill Test

a) Shorthand Speed for ASI (Steno) : Shorthand speed @ 80 words per minute in English OR in Hindi for 10 minutes. Transcription of dictation in English in 50 minutes on computer OR transcription of dictation in Hindi in 65 minutes on computer.

b) Typing Speed for HC(Min) : Typing with minimum speed of 35 words per minute in English OR 30 words per minute in Hindi corresponding to 10500 KDPH in English/9000 KDPH in Hindi with average of 5 key depressions for each word on comput Time-10 'minutes

Age Limit : Between 18-25 yrs as on 01/01/2017.

Selection Procedure :  The selection shall be held in two phases as under:-

(a) First Phase 

(i) Written Examination

(b) Second Phase:- Number of candidates qualified in written examination will be restricted maximum ten times of number of vacancies or qualified candidates for the post of HC(Min) and thirty time number of vacancies for the post of ASI(Steno) or qualified candidates whichever is less for 2nd phase examination.

(i) Physical Measurement Test (PST)

(ii) Shorthand Speed Test (only for ASI/Steno)

(iii) Typing Speed Test (only for HC/Min)

(iv) Documentation (Checking of Documents)

(v) Medical Examination.
