Job Description

Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites application for the position Assistant Editor

Position: Assistant Editor (Oriya)

No of Posts: 01

Pay Scale: Level- 07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

Educational:
(i) Degree of a recognized university;
(ii) Degree or Diploma in Librarianship or equivalent qualifications of a recognized University or institution.

Experience:
(i) About five years’ practical experience in a responsible capacity in a Library of standing;
(ii) Proficiency in Oriya Language.

Duties:
(i) In charge of Oriya Language Division of CRL;
(ii) Responsible for all sectional work including cataloguing and classifying of the Oriya Books;
(iii) Compilation and editing of Oriya Language Bibliography including Roman Script of INB;
(iv) Answering reference queries correspondence, translation from and into concerned language;
(v) Reading proofs of Bibliography;
(vi) Any other duties as may be assigned from time to time.

Age Limit: 35 years.

Application Fees: Candidates are required to pay a fee of Rs. 25. No fee for SC/ST/PwBD/Women candidates of any community. No 'fee exemption' is available to Gen/OBC/EWS male candidates and they are required to pay the full prescribed fee. Fee once paid shall not be refunded under any circumstance nor can the fee be held in reserve for any other examination or selection.
