Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) invites application for the position Assistant Engineer 

Position: Assistant Engineer Quality Assurance (Armament-Ammunition)

1. No of Posts: 29

Pay Scale: Level- 07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

Essential Qualification: Masters Degree in Science in one of the subject viz. Physics, Chemistry (Inorganic), Chemistry(Organic) from a recognized University OR Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technology in Mechanical or Production from a recognized University or Institute.

Experience: Two years practical experience in Production or Development or Quality Assurance in the field of Mechanical Engineering or Production Engineering from a recognized organization or undertaking.

Duties: The officer shall be responsible for quality assurance, acceptance, inspection of equipments, arms and ammunition stores, defect investigation, trials, vetting of draft indents/agreements/supply orders, sampling plans, liaison with production units, removal of bottlenecks and suggesting methods of improvements of quality.


Position: Assistant Engineer Quality Assurance (Electronics)

1. No of Posts: 74

Pay Scale: Level- 07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

Essential Qualification: Masters Degree in Science in one of subjects viz. Physics, Electronics, Physics with Electronics from a recognized University OR Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technology in one of the discipline viz. Electrical, Electronics, Electronics and Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electronics and Instrumentation from a recognized University or Institute.

Experience: Two years practical experience in Production or Development or Quality Assurance in the field of Electrical, Electronics, Electronics and Electrical, Electronics and Telecommunication, Electronics & Instrumentation.

Duties: The officer shall be responsible for quality assurance activities & AHSP activities pertaining to trades and ordinance, Inspection, Acceptance & Capacity Assessment of Firms for Defence Supplies, vetting of draft indents/agreements/supply orders, sampling plans, liaison with production units, scrutiny & audit Test Data of Stores, Technical & Administrative duties / correspondence.


Position: Assistant Engineer Quality Assurance (Gentex)

1. No of Post: 54

Pay Scale: Level- 07 in the Pay Matrix as per 7th CPC.

Essential Qualification: Masters Degree in Science in one of the subjects viz. Physics, Chemistry(Inorganic), Chemistry(Organic) from a recognized University OR Bachelor degree in Engineering or Technology in one of the discipline viz. Mechanical, Metallurgy, Textile and Clothing, Textile Technology, Plastic Technology, Polymer Technology, Ceramics Technology from a recognized University or Institute.

Experience: Two years practical experience in Production or Development or Quality Assurance in the field of Mechanical Engineering or Textile & Clothing or Garment Designing or Textile Processing or Metallurgy or Plastic or Polymer or Ceramics or Production Engineering from a recognized organization or undertaking.

Duties: The officer shall be responsible for quality assurance activities & AHSP activities pertaining to trades and ordinance, Inspection, Acceptance & Capacity Assessment of Firms for Defence Supplies, vetting of draft indents/agreements/supply orders, sampling plans, liaison with production units, scrutiny & audit Test Data of Stores, Technical & Administrative duties / correspondence.
