Qualification: Ph.D. with first class or equivalent (in terms of grades, etc.) at the preceding degree in appropriate branch, with a very good academic record throughout.
Assistant Professor
Age: Preferably below 35 years.
For a fresh Ph.D., the position will be on contract basis for the first three years, and will be regularized afterwards. For those with three or more years of teaching / research / industrial experience (excluding however, the period of pursuing Ph.D) regular appointment can be made. Candidate should have demonstrated research capabilities in terms of publications in reputed journals and conferences.
Associate Professor: A minimum 6 years of teaching / research/industrial experience of which minimum 3 years should be at the level of Assistant Professor in IITs / IISc Bangalore /IIMs /IISERs or in the institutes of national importance or Indian/Foreign Institutes of equivalent standards/Senior Scientist in the reputed National/International research organizations/ Industries at the time of application. The candidate should have demonstrated adequate experience of independent research in terms of guidance of Ph.D. students, publications in reputed journals and conferences, patents, laboratory/course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.
Professor :A minimum 10 years of teaching/research/industrial experience of which minimum 4 years should be at the level of Associate Professor in IITs / IISc Bangalore / IIMs / IISERs or in the institutes of national importance or Indian / Foreign Institutes of equivalent standards / Senior Scientist in reputed National / International Research Organizations / Industries at the time of application. The candidate should have demonstrated leadership in research in a specific area of specialization in terms of guidance of Ph.D. students, strong record of publications in reputed journals and conferences, patents, laboratory / course development and/or other recognized relevant professional activities.
Assistant Professor Grade I: Pay Level 12 (101500-167400) with minimum Pay of 101500/- After completion of 3 years of service as Assistant Professor in Pay Level 12, the candidates will be considered for movement to Pay Level 13A1 (131400- 204700). Grade II: Candidates with Ph.D but with less than 3 years’ experience can be considered for Assistant Professor in Pay Level 10 (with min. pay 70,900/) or 11 with minimum pay as approved by the Board of Governors.
