Assistant Professor in Psychiatry

Qualification : Essential Qualification: (i) A recognized medical qualification included in the First or Second Schedule or Part - II of the Third Schedule (other than licentiate qualifications) to the Indian Medical Council Act,1956. Holders of educator ii qualifications included in Part - II of the Third Schedule should also fulfill the conditions stipulated in sub - section (3) of section (13) of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956. (ii) Postgraduate degree in the concerned specialty mentioned in Section-A of the Schedule- VI or equivalent
Experience : 3 years as Tutor/Demonstrator/Senior Resident/Register/Lecturer after the requisite PG qualification
Non-Medical Post:
Assistant Professor in Psychiatric Nursing

Essential Qualification for Assistant Professor: i) First or Second Class (55%) Master's Degree in Social Work Nursing/Psychology (ii) M.Phil. in Psychiatric Social Work/Nursing (Psychiatric Nursing)/Clinical Psychology/Medical & Social Psychology (iii) Ph.D. / D. Sc. in concerned specialty from a recognized Institution / University. Desirable: 2 research publications in indexed journals as first/corresponding author. Essential Experience: 3 years teaching/clinical/research experience in the concerned subject after Ph.D. degree

Essential Experience: 2 years clinical teaching & research experience as Clinical Psychologist in a Mental Hospital/recognized teaching Institutions. Experience may be relaxed at the discretions of the selection committee if a person is found otherwise suitable. Desirable: i) Research/published work in indexed journals. (ii) Working knowledge in local / regional language.

About Company
The Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH) was initially set up as Tezpur Lunatic Asylum under the British Government in April, 1876. In 1922 the hospital was rechristened as Tezpur Mental Hospital. With the progress in the field of psychiatry across the globe, steps were also taken to develop this hospital with modern facilities. Major construction activities were started in 1926. A private firm, “Zardine Menezes Co.,” was hired from Calcutta for undertaking the upgradation works. By the end of 1932 the hospital accommodation rose up to 700 beds.
