Scale of Pay: Level 18: {68400 (BP) + 16416 (NPA) + 8208 (HRA) + 500 (MA)} i.e. Rs.93524{Calculated as per the provisions of the West Bengal Medical Education Service (Pay & Allowances) rules 1990, as amended from time to time, read with the WBS(ROPA) Rules, 2019}.
Recruitment to the 62(sixty two) vacant posts of Assistant Professors in the cadre of
West Bengal Medical Education Service
Qualification : Essential: i. MBBS Degree included in the First Schedule or Second Schedule or Part-II of the Third Schedule of the Indian Medical Council Act, 1956 (Act 102 of 1956) and requisite Postgraduate Degree for the Specialties Group and requisite Post Doctoral Degrees for the Super Specialties Group, as prescribed by the Medical Council of India and specified in the ‘Minimum Qualifications for Teachers in Medical Institutions Regulations, 1998” as amended from time to time; ii. A minimum of three years’ teaching experience, in the subject concerned in a recognized Medical College as Demonstrator or Resident Medical Officer-cum-Clinical Tutor or Lecturer. Provided that the teaching experience rendered as Demonstrator or Resident Medical Officer-cumClinical Tutor or Lecturer during the course of Post Graduate training in that particular discipline in a Recognized Medical Teaching Institution shall also be reckoned as qualifying service for Departmental promotion/recruitment in such discipline. In case of DNB candidates equated to MD/MS in terms of clause 4A of schedule I, in addition to 3 years’ experience in the subject as Resident/Registrar/Demonstrator/Tutor/ or work experience gained during DNB training in a recognized permitted medical college in the concerned subject, 1(one) year as Senior Resident in the subject concerned in a recognized permitted Medical College.
