Job Description
We are looking for an Associate Content Ingestion Analyst to help establish a new operations team in Chennai, India. This role will report to a Content Ingestion Manager and will present opportunities to work with multiple ProQuest product lines (PQIS, Dialog, Alexander Street) supporting a variety of manufacturing systems and content types.
In this position, you will
- Monitor the currency and completeness of serial publications ingested through a variety of processes (web-harvest, FTP delivery, email, hardcopy, etc.).
- Communicate with publishers and other content owners to ensure content delivery and resolve content issues.
- Perform content corrections and resolve errors in the ingestion process.
- Update internal tracking systems.
- Contribute to problem solving, collaboration, process improvement, and information sharing.
Qualified Candidates will have
- Bachelor s degree plus at least 1 year experience in a technology-focused or professional services firm, or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Ability to work well both independently and in a team environment.
- Ability to communicate effectively with external contacts via telephone and written communication forms (email, etc.).
- Attention to detail and ability to synthesize information rapidly.
- Ability to manage and meet multiple deadlines.
- Strong technical skills, with ability to quickly learn new software.
- Strong working knowledge of Microsoft Office products.

- Graduate coursework or equivalent experience in Publishing, Business, Library/Information Science, and Customer Service.
- Experience working with periodicals, periodical acquisitions or a related area.
- Understanding of delivery methods for electronic content (i.e.: FTP, Web, RSS, Email) and various media storage methods and devices.
- Understanding of data formats for electronic content (i.e.: TIFF, JPEG, GIF, PDF, HTML, SGML, XML, ASCII, MARC).
- Knowledge of ProQuests products.
