Job Description

Associate Professor / Assistant Professor  job vacancies in National Sports University purely on temporary/ contract basis

Associate Professor (Physical Education )

Qualification :  I. A Master's Degree in Physical Education/ M.P.Ed./ M.P.E.S. with at least 55% of the marks with good academic record or its equivalent grade of 'B' in the UGC 7 point scale. 2. At least eight years teaching/ research experience in a Department / College of Physical Education out of which at least three years in the post graduate level. 3. Besides fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC like S L ET/SET. 4. The candidate having Ph.D. degree in the concerned subject in accordance with the University Grants Commission (Minimum Standards and Procedure for award of Ph.D. Degree) Regulations, 2009, shall be exempted from NET/SLET/SET.  5. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PEAS) as prescribed by UGC Regulations 2018.

Remuneration :  Rs. 1,75,000/- per month

Associate Professor (Sports Coaching)

No. of Post : 1

Qualification :  1. A Masters Degree in Physical Education and Diploma in Sports Coaching or equivalent degree (Recognized University or Institute)/ NSNIS Diploma in Sport Coaching with at least 55% of the marks with good academic record or its equivalent grade of 'B' in the UGC 7 point scale. 2. An eminent scholar with Ph.D. qualification(s) in Physical Education published high quality research work, with evidence of published work with a minimum of 10 publications as books and/or research/policy papers. 3. A minimum of eight years' of teaching experience in University Department /National level Institutions of Sports, Affiliated College under any University and/or Experience in research at the University / National level Institutions of Sports/ Sports Science Industries. 4. Contribution to educational innovation, design of new curricula and courses, and technology —mediated teaching learning process. 5. A minimum score as stipulated in the Academic Performance Indicator (API) based Performance Based Appraisal System (PBAS) as prescribed by UGC Regulations 2018.

Desirable  :  Outstanding achievement in coaching with evidence and having produced good performance teams/ athletes for competitions at the level of State/ National/ Inter University/ combined University.

Remuneration :  Rs. 1,75,000/- per month

Assistant Professor (Sports Coaching)

No. of Posts :  8 (in sports disciplines of Athletics, Badminton, Boxing, Football, Shooting, Swimming and Weightlifting)

Qualification :  1. Master degree in Physical Education with minimum of 55% of marks and Diploma in Sports Coaching in concerned Sport (s) from any recognized University/NSNIS Diploma in Sports Coaching OR Master Degree in Sports Coaching in the concerned Sports (s) OR Masters' Degree in Physical Education with Concerned Sport Specialization and Licensing Course offered by Concerned International Sports Association

Remuneration  :  Rs. 80,000/- per month

Assistant Professor (Physical Education)

No. of Posts :  5

Qualification :  1. Master degree in Physical Education with minimum of 55% of marks with concerned Sport Specialization in Volleyball, Badminton/ Football/ Swimming/ Athletics/ Hockey/ Boxing/ Gymnastics or Licensing Course offered by concerned International Sports Association. Preference would be given to a candidate with Subject specialization in Sport and Exercise Physiology/Sport Biomechanics / Sports Psychology / Yogic Science/ Traditional Sports. 2. Besides fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET.

Remuneration  :  Rs. 80,000/-per month

Assistant Professor (Sports Psychology)

No. of Posts :  3

Qualification :  1. Master degree with minimum of 55% of marks in Psychology/ Physical Education with Sport Psychology Specialization / Equivalent degree from India and abroad. 2. Besides fulfilling the above qualification, the candidate should have cleared the National Eligibility Test (NET) conducted by the UGC or similar test accredited by the UGC like SLET/SET. Note: Preference would be given to a candidate with specialization in Sport Psychology and having Sport Specialization in Athletics, Badminton, Football, Swimming or higher level of Sport Achievement in any other Sport

About Company

It is with this as one of the missions that the National Sports University, Manipur, was set up in 2018. The University is presently functional from  its temporary campus at the Khuman Lampak Sports Complex of  Imphal. Prime Minister of India, Shri Narendra Modi, laid the foundation stone for the University’s proposed 325 acre campus at Imphal West, on 16th March 2018. Dr. Najima Heptulla, Governor of Manipur, Col. Rajyavardhan Rathore (Retd.), AVSM, Minister of State (Independent Charge), Youth Affairs & Sports, were also present on the occasion.
