Responsibilities and key tasks

1. All patients are admitted under the department are initially assessed by the senior residents.

2. Trained to handle all emergencies independently and stabilize even critical patients.

3.Capable of carrying out all emergency procedures.

4. Maintain written records and files of the patient.

5. Observe and monitor the progress of the patient and inform the consultant and junior consultant of any variations.

6. Assist the secretary in preparing the discharge summary of the patient.

7. Apart from clinical work, participate in academic activities of the department

8. To ensure proper attention to the patient & their attendants

9.To proactive in terms of patient care (Planning and anticipation

10. To provide expert consultation and manage all patients related to the department.

11. To put Operation notes on procedures performed on the case sheet for In-Patient.

12. To ensure that the wards /NICU have necessary facilities for rendering patient care

13. To supervise all nursing / Paramedical and non-medical staff of the department to maintain discipline and high standard of medical care at the departments.

14. To have complete orientation of the NABH system of Hospital.

15. To comply with the service quality Process & policies of the respective area.

16. To comply with patient safety policy.

17. To co-ordinate with Head Of Department on all matters relating to:

To complaint redressal of patients

To take part in all regular CME's.

18. Provide back up (nights and weekends) medical advice/ assistance for CMO seeing emergencies and take over the responsibility.
