Integrated MPhil/PhD in Applied Economics
Eligibility : Master’s Degree in any subject. Those awaiting results of the qualifying examination may also apply. Such candidates, if selected, will be allowed to join the Programme only if their previous institutions certify that they have completed all requirements for award of degree. The name of such candidate shall stand automatically removed from the rolls of the Centre & University if he/she fails in Master’s programme, when his/her results are announced.
Financial Assistance : All the selected candidates will be offered CDS Fellowship for a period of 24 months or till the time of MPhil thesis submission, whichever is earlier.
Application Fee : Rs. 300, as a DD taken only from State Bank of India (SBI) or State Bank of Travancore (SBT) drawn in favour of the Centre for Development Studies, payable at Trivandrum. The application fee is non-refundable.
Selection Process : Selection is based on an entrance test and interview. Entrance test is scheduled on Sunday, May 22nd 2016 from 10.00 am to 12.00 noon at Hyderabad, Kolkata, Kozhikode, New Delhi, Pune & Thiruvananthapuram. Candidates will be shortlisted for interview on the basis of the Entrance test. Interview will be scheduled between July 1, 2016 and July 15, 2016 at CDS, Thiruvananthapuram.

The Reserve Bank of India and the Planning Commission has instituted endowment units for research in selected areas at CDS. The Union Ministry of Overseas Indian Affairs has set up a migration unit to study issues relating to international migration from India
