Job Description

Designation – CEO, IT & surveillance

Eligibility Criteria:

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Criminal Justice Sciences or a related field is preferred, plus five years supervisory experience in the Casino Surveillance and/or Casino Security field; or equivalent combination of experience and education. No felony, theft or stealing convictions. Must be able to successfully pass a pre-employment drug/alcohol screen and background investigation; and to include the following:
  • Knowledge, Abilities, Skills, and Certifications:
  • Knowledge and training in investigative procedures and techniques.
  • Knowledge and training in interviewing and interrogation techniques.
  • Knowledge and training in internal and external cheating and theft techniques, casino game protection techniques, card counting and advantage play techniques and casino surveillance techniques.
  • Knowledge of policies and procedures.
  • Knowledge of fraud detection.
  • Knowledge and ability of leadership, management, training, mentoring and coaching techniques.
  • Knowledge of surveillance systems, cameras and digital recording equipment.
  • Knowledge of budget preparations.
  • Ability to communicate effectively in the English language, both verbally and in writing with staff and the general public.
  • Ability to read and analyze general business periodicals and professional journals, technical procedures or government regulations.
  • Ability to write reports, business correspondence and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers and the general public.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram or schedule form.
  • Skill in operating business computers and office machines, including in a Windows environment, specifically Word, Excel, Access, and presentation software (such as PowerPoint).
  • Ability to work in a stressful, fast paced environment.

Brief Job Description:

  • Supervises and directs the daily operation of the Surveillance Department and its employees.
  • Approves property shift schedules, employee hours worked and ensures attendance records are maintained for all Surveillance personnel.
  • Ensures accurate incident reporting and logging of all required information by Surveillance staff is completed on a daily basis.
  • Reviews daily Shift Reports, Incident Reports and Log entries generated by Surveillance staff and submits Incident Reports to Executive Management, Department Directors, the Board of Directors and the Tohono O’odham Gaming Office, as appropriate.
  • Reports to the Board of Directors, Chief Executive Officer and Human Resources
  • Department any violations of Policies and Procedures by the Surveillance Personnel.
  • Directs and assigns duties to Surveillance personnel as required.
  • Provides training in all aspects of the Surveillance Department, to include, but not limited to, internal and external cheating and theft techniques, advantage play techniques, game protection techniques, surveillance techniques and rules, regulations, policies and procedures of all casino games and departments.
  • Ensures that personnel are properly trained in the use and care of all surveillance equipment.
  • Responsible for overseeing and approving the ordering of equipment and supplies for the department.
  • Ensures that the Surveillance room facilities are kept in a neat and orderly fashion.
  • Ensures that all routine equipment maintenance is scheduled and performed as required.
  • Ensures Arizona Department of Gaming (ADOG) Tohono O’odham Gaming Office (TOGO) State/Tribal Compact, State/Tribal Gaming Ordinance laws, rules, regulations, Minimum Internal Control Standards (MICS) and Enterprise Policies and Procedures are followed and adhered to at all times.
  • Responsible for developing, revising, and implementing Surveillance Department policies and procedures with the assistance of the Assistant Director of Surveillance and Surveillance Operations Managers.
  • Conducts investigations and assists in any internal or external investigations conducted by the Casino or Authorized Local Authorities.
  • Prepares and conducts reports for the Tohono O’odham Gaming Enterprise Management Board and Tohono O’odham Gaming Office.
  • Contributes to a team effort and accomplishes related results as required.
  • Develops, refines, and directs the planning and implementation of long and short-range goals and objectives to improve and streamline surveillance operations.
  • Researches and evaluates surveillance systems and equipment and makes recommendations to the Board of Directors of the Gaming Enterprise regarding enhancements to the Gaming Enterprise’s Surveillance System.
  • Develops, presents, and administers the annual budget for the Surveillance Department, including monitoring monthly expenditures to ensure adherence to the approved budget.
  • Interacts routinely with casino management and surveillance directors from other casinos to develop professional relationships and exchange information.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.
