Job Description

Project Information

  • At Horus Jetpack, we are thriving to take the conventional mode of air transport one step further with personal flight revolution. 
  • We are involved in improving mixing phenomenon and use clean gas as the main fuel so as to generate the necessary thrust for the jetpack system. 
  • We focus on developing an innovative, efficient and environment-friendly method which will reduce the demand for higher power in a challenging environment. 
  • To further improve combustion engines by increasing efficiency and lowering emissions it is of utmost importance to have models available which are predictive under all operating conditions.
  • The position is located within the division of Technology Business Incubator, College of Engineering Trivandrum at the Department of Mechanics. The research will be guided by the Jetpack team.

Responsibilities

  • Candidate will be involved in research and development of concepts which will enhance the mixing
  • The project requires extensive programming and CFD skills.
  • Candidate will be working on turbulent combustion simulation inside combustion chambers and optimize the chamber design to enhance combustion.
  • Propose feasible solutions or changes in existing design.
  • The candidate is expected to present the findings from the project at international conferences and meetings as well as to write articles to be published in high-quality journals.

Position

  • Full-time contract employment. Tenure will be initially limited for a maximum of 1 year.

Qualifications

For the position a master's/bachelor level degree awarded from a recognized university in Mechanical Engineering, Engineering Physics, Physics, or Applied Mathematics is mandatory.

  • Candidate should have very good knowledge of Fluid Dynamics, thermodynamics, Numerical Methods and turbulence models.
  • Knowledge in aircraft engines would be an advantage.
  • Practical experience in the Linux operating system and strong knowledge in Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) are mandatory for this position.
  • Should have an open mind to learn new concepts and technology.
