Sports Persons (Havaldar) recruitment in Chennai Customs Zone
The applicants should have represented in any of the competition mentioned above in the events of (i)Volleyball(Men), (ii)Football(Men), (iii)Basketball(Men) and (iv)Athletics (Men/Women) / Swimming (Men/Women), Lawn Tennis(Men), Table Tennis (Men/Women) and Shuttle Badminton(Men/Women) in the year 2014 or later.
Qualification : Matriculation or equivalent from any recognized Board.

Pay Scale : Rs.19,900-63,200/-
Age : 18-27 yrs
For Male Candidates : Physical Standard (minimum) Height — 157.5 cms. (relaxable by 5 cms. in the case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and members of the Scheduled Tribes) Chest — 81 cms. (fully expanded with minimum expansion of 5 ems.)
Physical Test: Walking — 1600 meters in 15 minutes. Cycling — 8 Krns. in 30 minutes
For Female Candidates: Physical Standard (minimum) Height — 152 cms, Weight- 48 Kgs., (Height relaxable by 2.5 cms and Weight by 2 Kgs. in case of Garhwalis, Assamese, Gorkhas and members of the Scheduled Tribes)
Physical Test: Walking —1 Km in 20 minutes. Cycling — 3 Krns. in 25 minutes

The history of Chennai Customs dates back to 600 AD when the seaport of Mamallapuram flourished under the rule of the Pallava King, Mahendra Varma. It was in Fort St. George that the British first collected Sea Customs duties. Lord Edward Clive who was the Governor of Madras Presidency during 1754-1839 ordered the transfer of the Custom House from Fort St. George to its present site at No.33, Rajaji Salai, Chennai-600 001.
