POSITION: CLOUD DATABASE ADMINISTRATOR Location: Pune, India Experience: 3 to 5 years Responsibilities • Installation, patch application, configuration and hardening of databases • Performing, automating and monitoring database backups and restores • Monitoring and troubleshooting various database problems • Access Management • ETL deployments • Performance tuning and optimizations of SQL queries as well as databases • Continuous improvement on database housekeeping tasks by automating them • Design and build monitoring, reporting and debugging utilities related to database systems • Research advanced, new features related to databases and suggest ways of using those in our cloud • Follow the mandated processes and adhere to the development/ maintenance guidelines • Participate in 24×7, follow-the-sun model to collaboratively work with the cross-geography teams, on need basis Must-have qualifications and skills • Bachelors in Engineering from a reputed engineering school • Around 3-5 years’ experience of administering DBs and above in production environment • Experience in database backup, restoration, monitoring, reporting and performance tuning • In depth understanding of high availability (HA) and disaster recovery (DR) database solutions like Always-On • Experience of using SQL (Transact-SQL) to write queries, stored procedures, functions, SQL agent jobs and linked servers • Excellent communication skills and attention to details • Strong analytical, troubleshooting and problem-solving skills • Must be able to work effectively and collaboratively with local and remote team members • Can-do attitude Good-to-have qualifications and skills • Understanding of one more database other than SQL, preferably Postgres • Knowledge of a scripting language • Worked on public clouds like AWS/ Azure • Worked on Linux • Hands-on knowledge of Ansible • Have configured and managed database replication solutions Heuristics • Must have experience in working with remote teams • Experience and readiness of working in a 24×7 environment Job ID: 179131 Organization: Internet of Things Company: Siemens Technology and Services Private Limited Experience Level: Early Professional Job Type: Full-time
