Combined Higher Secondary Level (10+2) Examination job opportunities in  Staff Selection Commission

The Staff Selection Commission will hold a competitive examination for recruitment to the posts of Lower Divisional Clerk/ Junior Secretariat Assistant, Postal Assistant/ Sorting Assistant and Data Entry Operators for various Ministries/ Departments/ Offices of the Government of India. The details of the examination are as under:

Vacancies :   Vacancies will be determined in due course. Updated vacancy position will be uploaded on the website of the Commission from time to time

Qualifications :

For LDC/ JSA, PA/ SA, DEO (except DEOs in C&AG) :  The candidates must have passed 12th Standard or equivalent examination from a recognized Board or University.

For Data Entry Operator (DEO) in the Office of Comptroller and Auditor General of India (C&AG): 12th Standard pass in Science stream with Mathematics as a subject from a recognized Board or equivalent. As per Ministry of Human Resource Development Notification dated 10- 06-2015 published in Gazette of India all the degrees/ diplomas /certificates awarded through Open and Distance Learning mode of education by the Universities established by an Act of Parliament or State Legislature, Institutions Deemed to be Universities under Section 3 of the University Grant Commission Act 1956 and Institutions of National Importance declared under an Act of Parliament stand automatically recognized for the purpose of employment to posts and services under the Central Government provided they have been approved by the University Grants Commission. As per UGC (Open and Distance Learning) Regulations, 2017 published in official Gazette on 23-06-2017, under Part-I (2)(p), the programmes in engineering are not permitted to be offered under Open and Distance Learning mode.

Pay Scale :  

1.  Lower Division Clerk (LDC)/ Junior Secretariat Assistant (JSA) :  Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 1900 (pre-revised).

2. Postal Assistant (PA)/ Sorting Assistant (SA) :  Pay Band -1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised).

3. Data Entry Operator (DEO) :  Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised) and

4. Data Entry Operator, Grade “A” : Pay Band-1 (Rs. 5200-20200), Grade Pay: Rs. 2400 (pre-revised).

Age Limit :    Age limit for the posts is 18-27 years as on 01-08-2019 (i.e. Candidates born not before 02-08-1992 and not later than 01-08-2001)

Application Fee:  Fee payable: Rs 100/- (Rs one hundred only). Fee can be paid online through BHIM UPI, Net Banking, by using Visa, Mastercard, Maestro, RuPay Credit or Debit cards or in SBI Branches by generating SBI Challan. Women candidates and candidates belonging to Scheduled Castes (SC), Scheduled Tribes (ST), Persons with Disabilities (PwD) and Exservicemen (ESM) eligible for reservation are exempted from payment of fee.

Online fee can be paid by the candidates up to 07-04-2019 (5.00 PM). However, candidates who wish to make the cash payment through challan of SBI, may make the payment in cash at the Branches of SBI within the working hours of bank up to 09-04-2019 provided the challan has been generated by them before 07-04-2019 (5.00 PM).

Scheme of Examination :  

The Combined Higher Secondary Level (CHSL) examination will consist of a Computer Based Examination (Tier-I), Descriptive Paper (Tier-II) and Skill Test/ Typing Test (Tier-III). Computer Based Examination (Tier-I) will be of 200 marks with 100 questions and time duration of exma is 60 Minutes. The Tier-I Examination will consist of Objective Type, Multiple choice questions only. The questions will be set both in English & Hindi. There will be negative marking of 0.50 marks for each wrong answer.

On the basis of tire I exam, candidates will be shortlisted for tire II examination i.e Descriptive Paper. Tier-II Paper will be a descriptive Paper of 100 Marks. The duration of the Descriptive Paper would be for one hour. The Paper would comprise writing of an Essay of 200-250 words and a Letter/ Application of 150-200 words. Skill Test/ Typing Test for the qualified candidates will be conducted on computers provided by the Commission.

Final selection and allocation of Ministries/ Departments/ Offices to the candidates qualified in Tier-III will be made on the basis of the performance of candidates in the Tier-I and Tier-II Examinations.
