Job Description
- Mentoria is developing a content-based ecosystem that is geared towards young adults.
- We are looking for a Content Editor who will ensure consistent quality of content to this niche audience.
- Your job is to ensure that all communication adheres to best in class communication standards, grammar and the Mentoria brand.
- You will understand and ensure communications match company philosophy, policy, and strategy.
Roles:
- Responsible for an edit cycle of an entire content piece or post including giving feedback to the writers, making necessary changes, deletion of unnecessary content or rewriting sentences
- Responsible for Creative Title Writing (if need be)
- Ensure optimum feedback and learning is passed on to new writers to make them proficient quickly.
- Ensure that Web content meets the needs and interests of website visitors
- Constant interaction with In-house Publishers, Freelance Writers & other stakeholders.
- Be creative and provide value add suggestions to the Team Leader/manager to improve quality and output.
Primary Skills
- Must have excellent writing and editing skills, with an understanding of the special requirements of writing for the Web, such as the use of keywords, hyperlinks, navigation.
- They must have a good eye for detail, with excellent spelling, grammar & punctuation skills.
- Editors must have good skills to work effectively
- Good organizational skills to help collate material from multiple sources and produce web content within challenging deadlines.
Qualification
- Bachelors or Master’s Degree in mass communication/English or any Graduate with rich experience in content editing
- 3 to 5 years of Writing & Editing experience
- Background digital online publishing
- Strong written communication skills and a solid command of the English language
