A subject matter expert (SME) is the definitive source of knowledge, technique, or expertise in a specific subject area. The SME becomes the Bridge between the technical Support team and Development. SME team is responsible to share their knowledge, techniques and update with the Support.

Subject matter experts are assigned with module/s. They work with development team closely on new enhancement and existing issues in the module. Also, performing regression and unit testing on the module is part of their primary responsibility. Working on special project which may or may not be related to module but beneficial for the product is part of job.

 Key Responsibilities & Accountabilities:

  • SME's serve as tier 3 escalation for EMR support related to module.
  • Provide a high level support on escalated issues in timely fashion.
  • Develop knowledge based articles and support documents and conduct trainings.
  • Perform Unit and Integration testing of the  Module/Modules assigned.
  • Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs.
  • Assist in testing new software functionality prior to release.
  • Document all cases and IR's in emanager, and manage cases to closure.

Tasks & Duties:

  • Diagnose and resolve client issues that requires in depth knowledge of the functionality of the product.
  • Work with our Development team to develop, design and propose solutions to meet technological needs for users.
  • Responsible for escalation of problems where appropriate.
  • Perform other duties and special projects assigned.
  • Ability to complete multiple simultaneous projects on time.
  • Create detailed, comprehensive and well structured test plans and cases.
  • Estimate, prioritize, plan, and coordinate testing activities.
  • Design, develop 
  • Perform thorough regression testing when bugs are resolved.

Job Specifications

  • Knowledge of SQL and scripting, strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Excellent written communication and verbal skills,  as well as strong listening skills.
  • Ability to handle multiple priorities & good knowledge of SDLC and STLC.
  • Familiar with Network Technologies (TCP/IP, VPN, Remote Desktop).
  • Familiar with Web Applications and Infrastructure.
  • Windows Server and Desktop OS Knowledge.
  • Ability to understand and explain technical information.
  • Confident, patient and clear communicator with technical and non-technical customers via phone and email.
  • Ability to organize and prioritize multiple work assignments to meet deadlines.
  • Self motivated, detail-oriented and organized.
