The role’s purpose

In Ramboll we have during the past 30 years developed engineering software packages for our business.

We plan to embrace recent digital technologies and updates in standards and continuously modernize the application / workflow / execution and integrating with other commercial or inhouse software packages.
This job will focus on the software development, integrating the tools in our software in an automation framework. In this job focus is on development of cloud architectures for computing and data storage and distributing computing systems.

Your Responsibilities As Data Engineer In Ramboll Energy

We are looking for Data Engineer who will be responsible for expanding and optimizing our data and data pipeline cloud architecture, as well optimizing data flow and collection for cross functional teams. The Data Engineer will support our software developers, data analysts on data initiatives and will ensure optimal data delivery architecture is consistent throughout ongoing projects. Data Engineer will work around Ramboll’s software package

Assemble large, complex data sets that meet functional / non-functional business requirements.
Build the infrastructure required for optimal extraction, transformation, and loading of data from a wide variety of data sources using SQL and ‘big data’ technologies.
Process unstructured data into a form suitable for analysis.

Your competencies

Good knowledge on big data tools like Spark, Kafka, etc.
Integration of data storage solutions in the Google cloud.

Strong knowledge of and experience with SQL and No SQL databases and TCP/IP and network programming.
Good working experience with data pipeline and workflow management tools.
Knowledge on Kubernetes, JSON and interactions with Rest API’s.
Experience in Development and Automation of Data Pipelines using Python.
Proven experience of manipulating, processing and extracting value from large disconnected datasets.
Working knowledge of message queuing, stream processing, and highly scalable ‘big data’ data stores.
Knowledge on version control and issue tracking GitHub, GitLab, Git, Jenkins, Scrum.
Good communication skills.
BE / BTech / MSc / MTech in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field
Domain knowledge in Civil / Structural analysis will be added advantage.
