National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) invites application for the position Data Manager (Statistical/ Bioinformatics)

Essential Qualifications: Masters' degree in Statistics/Computer science/Bioinformatics. With at least 3 years' experience in Data handling and database management. Experience in developing online/mobile data collection applications.
Desirable: Experience in handling large public health data and knowledge on Omics data. Working knowledge of statistical software packages like SPSS, STATA and R. Preference will be given to Ph.D. holders. Prior experience of analysing large scale health and nutrition data will be preferred.
Nature of duties: Design and development of data collection applications, Efficient computer coding and updates on software & data base tools. Analyse and Compare the statistical and genomics data and also to identify patterns, relationships, problems, and linking with the industry-specific problems in multidisciplinary fields, such as economics and engineering. Preparation of reports, interpreting the data, training to assistants/team members tc organize findings properly and help in reading of the data stored in the servers.
Salary: Rs.65,000/- fixed without any allowances
Tenure: 1 year
Place of work: ICMR-NIN, Hyderabad
Age Limit: 35 - 45 years.

National Institute of Nutrition (NIN) was founded by Sir Robert McCarrison in the year 1918 as ‘Beri-Beri’ Enquiry Unit in a single room laboratory at the Pasteur Institute, Coonoor, Tamil Nadu. Within a short span of seven years, this unit blossomed into a 'Deficiency Disease Enquiry' and later in 1928, emerged as full-fledged 'Nutrition Research Laboratories' (NRL) with Dr. McCarrison as its first Director. It was shifted to Hyderabad in 1958.
