Job Requirements
The Data Warehouse Developer is an Information Technology Team member dedicated to developing and maintaining the Unifrax data warehouse environment. The incumbent must have expert knowledge of Microsoft SQL Server, SSIS, Microsoft Excel and the data vault design pattern. The Data Warehouse Developer must have a good understanding of back-end IT systems, master data and analytics platforms. This person will work in conjunction with the Business Intelligence Manager to implement global, enterprise data solutions. Responsibilities include ongoing support of the data warehouse environment, designing and implementing extract, transform and load (ETL) packages, designing and implementing data warehouse structures based on the data vault pattern, providing views of the warehouse data for application support, and creating and maintaining operational data stores. The Data Warehouse developer must be able to work independently, with minimal direction but ensure that the delivered solutions conform to all design requirements. This role is critical to grow, support, and govern business intelligence providing insightful reporting and analytics to drive competitive advantage. The individual must interact with people at all levels of the organization. The ability to work from home is required and extended hours may be required when deadlines are critical.
Responsibilities

• Primary data warehouse developer
• Design, create and maintain data warehouse environment using Microsoft SQL Server and Data Vault
• Design, create and maintain ETL packages using Microsoft SQL Server and SSIS
• Create views of the data warehouse data for consumption by external applications
• Design, create and maintain operational data stores
• Provide subject matter expertise to IT management
• Partner with IT Infrastructure and operations groups to provide SQL administration
• Partner with the BI Manager to provide data warehouse best practices, data modeling, and ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes
• Understand business intelligence analytic tools and dashboards in order to present information in a meaningful way
• Optimize the performance of the data warehouse environment
  

Qualifications

• Expert in data warehouse, data modeling using and ETL using Microsoft SQL Server.
• Four or more years of data warehouse design and development experience required.
• B.S. degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Mathematics or equivalent is required.
• Experience building ETL packages to pull data from major ERP systems include SAP, Sage and Syspro
• Knowledge of business core processes and business acumen.
• Experienced in Microsoft SQL Server administration including performance tuning and security
• Experience with business intelligence tools including Qlik, Tableau and Power BI, Microsoft Excel.
• Demonstrated experience in creating technical and functional specifications with related test plans.
• Understanding of best practices for data modeling, data dimensions and ETL.
• Strong interpersonal and leadership skills with the ability to work in culturally diverse cross-functional teams across business units.
