Required Technical and Professional Expertise
- At least 6 years of experience in administration of databases
- Strong hand-on experiences in at least 3 of these databases: SQL Server, MySQL, Cassandra, ElasticSearch, DB2, Oracle, PostgreSQL
- Willing to learn and manage new database technology and nosql db
- General sql tuning skills
- Basic knowledge of Operating Systems (Linux, Wintel), IP Services
- Skills in administering both relational and non-relational databases
- Intermediate level in Bash, Perl, Python etc scripting languages
Preferred Technical and Professional Expertise
Oracle skills
- Good knowledge about Oracle data pump utilities
- Good knowledge about Oracle database architecture
- Basic experience in systems and network monitoring
- Customer and service orientation, ability to operate well in an international and multicultural environment
- Technical Oracle database administration skills
- Knowledge of performance monitoring through, and configuration of Oracle Enterprise Manager
- Previous experience with configuring and administering databases on a virtual platform.
- Performance tuning of Oracle databases
- Previous experience of supporting Real Application Clusters (RAC)
- Knowledge of Data Guard replication technologies
- Good working knowledge of Linux/AIX
- Knowledge of High Availability (HA) and Disaster Recovery (DR) options for Oracle.
- Strong problem solving, analytical and troubleshooting skills.
- Experience with project coordination and planning.
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
