Job Description

The MSSQL Database Administrator will serve as a member of the DemandTec Cloud Production Operations database team managing several production SQL Server. SSIS & SSRS instances. This position is essential to driving the overall flexibility, scalability and design of the infrastructure that support multiple SaaS offerings. This position will play a key role in creating high quality database architectures that are available, secure, reliable, and highly efficient databases.

Responsibilities

Install and configure MS SQL Server instances in cloud, preferably on Azure
Maintain MSSQL schemas, tables, procedures, and permissions.
Manage Windows, Windows domains and SQL Server Security configurations
Manage SQL Server database and Log backups to Azure BLOB
Help drive migration from stand-alone SQL Server instance to Azure SQL
Monitor database and database maintenance jobs, creating indexes on a daily basis.
Monitor database performance, errors and perform analysis to find root cause
Understand applications supported and interaction of SQL Server with other application components.
Partner with application development teams in developing SQL Server Sps
Analyze and sustain capacity and performance for responsible areas.
Analyze and tune databases, queries, and stored procedures.
Understand and implement various mirroring and high availability technologies including mirroring, clustering, and log-shipping
Participate in application code reviews and make suggestions based on SQL Server best practices
Restore, rebuild, and recover database environments.
Develop good CI/CD pipeline for deploying releases and patches
Provide off-hours support for critical situations, releases, and upgrades.
Create and maintain scripts for task automation.
Evaluate and recommend the use of new database features and technologies.
