  • Ability to communicate fluently in an all-English business environment with a firm grasp of spelling and grammar
  • Strong problem-solving skills to make judgment calls based on the conversation with users and designers
  • Flexibility to work in rotational shifts according to business needs
  • Time management skills and ability to handle the tasks and prioritize based on needs during the shift

Who You'll Work With
You’ll work in our Bangalore office as part of the Design Coordination team of McKinsey Visual Graphics and Media Services.

McKinsey’s Design Coordination team is a service line which is part of McKinsey Global Services India Private Limited, a wholly-owned subsidiary of McKinsey & Company India, and has offices in Bengaluru, Chennai, and Trivandrum with more than 1,400 colleagues, working in various teams on a 24x7 basis.

This Design Coordination team aids in checking the requests received and enables the communication between our consultants and designers by setting up the expectations of those presentations/requests. The Design Coordination team works on different projects every day by interacting with consultants, designers, team leaders, and peer planners to deliver high-quality presentations.

What You'll Do
You will manage the various stages of the coordination process for presentation design services, which include several tasks such as revision of design requests, re-routing, confirmation, clarifying requirements, and request assignment among others.

In this role, you will help to create outstanding work by being the communication bridge between our consultants and designers, helping to enable a great customer experience throughout by setting expectations, identifying their needs, and assigning the best people around the globe to take care of requests. You will juggle multiple tasks, e.g. go through the design requests in the queue, understand the requirements (design and deadline related), contact our consultants for clarifications/negotiations, route the requests to the correct teams, and assign them to the most optimum designers. You need to coordinate at least 20 to 30 requests per day.

The definition of “teamwork” is a complex yet stimulating combination between side-by-side and virtual collaboration; ownership and commitment are paramount to be successful in the role. You will be working very closely with our designers and consultants. You will be the face of our business and have a great impact on our overall team’s performance.

You will also improve the consultant experience when requesting design-related work by conveying customer service etiquette and sufficient knowledge of design. You will do this by clarifying unclear instructions directly with consultants, understanding their expectations in terms of the design requirements, the scope of the request, time frame to be delivered. You will find yourself negotiating scope and deadlines when required, always demonstrating the maximum level of service orientation by being empathetic, courteous yet assertive, ensuring that the consultant is informed well in advance regarding delays, issues or other challenges.

You will need to be comfortable with change and ambiguity. You will face opportunities for continuous change in the team and the business objectives and must be adaptable and open to the challenges of change. Change can happen at various levels, from the change in a team structure (e.g., churn, attrition), processes, tools, or leadership direction.
