Admission to Ph.D. Programme
Ph.D. in Chemistry
Ph.D. in Physics
Ph.D. in Mathematics
Eligibility : Masters Degree from a recognised University (established/approved by UGC) with minimum 55% of marks or equivalent OGPA in the respective subject or applied science. The seats will be filled through entrance test. Shortlisted candidates after the written test will be called for interview. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in written test and interview performance. The candidates having qualified JRF examination conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICMR/ DBT or INSPIRE fellowship awarded by DST or having 2 years of research experience or M.Phil./M. Tech. degree in the respective subject with one publication in refereed journal are exempted from appearing in entrance test; however they will be required to appear for Interview.
Ph.D. in Computer Science
Eligibility : The admission in PhD program is based on the merit held in the university entrance test followed by an interview. However, the NET (JRF) students will be exempted from the written exam. The candidate must have obtained a M.Sc./MCA/M.Phil./M.Tech. from any recognized University, or any degree recognized as equivalent, in Computer Science or in an allied subject.
Ph.D. Environmental Science
Eligibility : Masters Degree from a recognised University (established/approved by UGC) with minimum 55% of marks or equivalent OGPA in Environmental Science or basic or applied science. 16 seats in Ph. D. programme are divided as follows: Category I: 08 (50%) seats will be filled through entrance test. Shortlisted candidates after the written test will be called for interview. Merit list will be prepared on the basis of marks obtained in written test and interview performance. Category II: 05 (30%) seats are to be filled by the candidates having qualified JRF examination conducted by UGC/CSIR/ICMR/ DBT or INSPIRE fellowship awarded by DST. Candidates falling in this category are exempted from appearing in entrance test; however they will be required to appear for Interview. Category III: 03 (20%) seats to be filled by candidates having 2 years of research experience or M.Phil./M. Tech. degree with one publication in refereed journal. Candidates falling in this category are also exempted from appearing in entrance test; however they will be required to appear for Interview. Note: If suitable candidates are not found in any of the three categories the vacant seats of that category shall be filled from the other categories.
Ph.D. Media & Communication Studies
Eligibility : Master’s degree in Mass Communication and Journalism from a recognized University (established/approved by UGC) with a minimum of 55% marks or equivalent OGPA Category I: 2 seats to be filled through entrance test and interview Category II: 1 seat to be filled from UGC JRF qualified candidates. Candidates falling in this category shall be exempted from appearing in entrance test, however they will be required to appear for Interview. Category III: 1 seat to be filled from the candidates having 2 years of teaching/ research experience or M.Phil. degree with one publication in refereed journal. Candidates falling in this category shall be exempted from appearing in entrance test; however they will be required to appear for Interview. Note: If suitable candidate are not found in any of the three categories the vacant seat of that category shall be filled from the other categories.
Ph.D. Management
Eligibility : Master of Management or M.B.A or PGDM (duly recognized by UGC/ AICTE/AIU equivalent) with at least 55 % marks or equivalent OGPA. Category I: 6 seats to be filled through entrance test and interview. Category II: 3 seats to be filled from UGC JRF qualified candidates. Candidates falling in this category shall be exempted from appearing in entrance test. However, they will be required to appear for Interview. Category III: 3 seats to be filled from the candidates having 2 years of teaching/ research experience or 2 years of Industrial experience or M.Phil. degree with one publication. Candidates falling in this category shall be exempted from appearing in entrance test. However, they will be required to appear for Interview. Note: If suitable candidate are not found in any of the three categories the vacant seat/s of that category shall be filled from the other categories.
