Two Years Post Graduate Oncology Fellowship Programme

Dr. B. Borooah Cancer Institute and Tata Memorial Hospital are jointly envisaging introduction of Two Years Post Graduate Oncology Fellowship Programme in various disciplines of Oncology from the academic session 2016. The highlight of the programme includes a compulsory posting for two months at Tata Memorial Hospital. It is hoped that through this programme, the level of cancer care in India in general and North Eastern States in particular will improve significantly.

Number of Seats : Two seats in each disciplines-1 general, 1 sponsored

Disciplines : Surgical Oncology/ Medical Oncology/ Head & Neck Oncology/ Gynecologic Oncology/ Onco-Pathology

Eligibility : Post Graduate degree / diploma in respective discipline from a recognized university. The following degree / diploma will be considered. MD (Gen.Medicine/ Paediatrics/ O&G/ Pathology), MS (Gen.Surgery/ Orthopaedics/ ENT), MDS, DLO, DCH, DGO, DCP

Stipend : Applicable only for General (non-sponsored) candidates: Rs. 30,000/- per month. (Rupees thirty six thousand) only.

Mode of Selection : Academic records and personal interview by Selection Committee.

Application Fee : A non-refundable application fee of Rs.500/- in form of demand draft drawn in favour of Director, Dr B Borooah Cancer Institute, Guwahati from a nationalized bank payable at Guwahati has to be submitted at the time of interview.

Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah (4th September 1893 - 25th September 1956) was a great physician, freedom fighter and philanthropist of Assam. In 1958 at a public meeting in Guwahati, a decision was taken to set up a cancer hospital at Guwahati to commemorate the memory of Dr. Bhubaneswar Borooah.
