Role Summary

WSP wishes to recruit a dynamic, self-motivated Highway Engineer to join the ‘UK CRC Development Infrastructure’ team in Noida which provides detailed infrastructure designs for both public and private sector clients.

The ability to plan and design deliverables against UK Engineering standards for each stage of a project is a pre-requisite and training and guidance will be provided where necessary

Responsibilities

Production of detailed highway development infrastructure designs and construction drawings for various UK projects including residential, industrial, commercial, transport, water, retail, health and education projects.                

Key Competencies / Skills

Mandatory Skills

• Good command of written and verbal English.
• Good experience in highway infrastructure design including horizontal and vertical design (junctions and highways), highway detailing and vehicle tracking.
• Problem solving and originality.
• Cultural awareness, conscientious and an open mind are essential requirements for the role.
• High degree of self-motivation.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• A proficiency in AutoCAD, Civils 3D/PDS, MS Word and MS Excel is expected.

Desired Skills

• UK experience advantageous in particular in the application of DMRB/MfS/Local Highway Authority Design Guides.
• Flexibility to work on non-highway highways design. Knowledge of UK drainage design including design to Section 104 of the Water Industry Act and Building Regulation technical approvals would be advantageous.

Qualifications

• Master of Science or bachelor’s degree in Civil / Environmental Engineering
• At least 3 years’ postgraduate (or equivalent) experience of working with infrastructure highway projects
• Experience to work in/with other cultures.
