Job Description
The Red Hat Global Business Delivery (GBD) Business Finance team is looking for a Financial Analyst to join us in Pune, India. In this role, you will focus primarily on supporting the Marketing and Products and Technologies (PnT) function to help leadership guide business decisions. You will interact frequently with key leadership from across the globe. This will provide you with the opportunity to sharpen your quantitative analysis skills and to develop well-rounded business insight through working with senior leadership on impactful and business-critical projects. Your success as a Financial Analyst will depend on your ability to collaborate with and shape your stakeholders to take action on intelligence and recommendations that you provide in this role.
- Develop analyses, KPI metrics, and presentations that will provide insight and direction to Sales and Services leadership
- Review marketing costs at the end of each month and quarter
- Provide forecast and analytics that will improve the leadership team’s ability to guide the business and surpass targets
- Provide an explanation for variances of actual to budget and comparative quarters
- Coordinate with other regional teams to consolidate data for reporting purposes
- Create financial models and dashboards with analysis on investment and expenses
- Work with various business functions to review annual Marketing targets or goals
- Develop an understanding of Red Hat’s global business model to identify financial trends and provide insights using analytical methods
- Approve purchase requisition with selected criteria
- Upload data in the marketing tool Allocadia
- Prepare and deliver visualizations and internal presentations that translate analytic insights into tangible, actionable solutions for business partners to implement
- Provide high-quality automation of existing reports and business review decks
- Work extended hours during quarter or year-end periods when required; this may include weekends
- Develop an understanding of Red Hat’s workflows and a deep understanding of our policies
- Continuously look for ways to improve productivity or the level of services provided to the business
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, economics, business, statistics, or other quantitative field; MBA is a plus
- Excellent communication, presentation, and relationship management skills
- 4+ years of relevant strategy, finance, analytics, budgeting, forecasting, or consulting experience
- Solid spreadsheet skills with proven experience managing large datasets, performing analysis, and building user-friendly models
- Direct experience with Microsoft Excel and data visualization skills
- Knowledge of at least one enterprise resource planning (ERP) system, preferably Oracle
- Experience with Hyperion, including Essbase, Smart View, and OneStream
- Experience with analytical tools like QlikView, Tableau, or any other business intelligence (BI) visualization tools
- Readiness to learn new technologies and show constructive attitude toward continuous development
- Ability to work both on your own and collaboratively
- Experience with programming, scripting, or writing database SQL code
- Experience with the development of data offerings using Python or R shiny
- Experience using at least one data mining tool like SAP BusinessObjects or SAS
- Experience with relational database systems or data warehousing systems like SQL Server, Amazon Redshift, Oracle, MySQL, etc.
- Passionate about choice in technology, open source, and Red Hat
