Job Description
Board Of Apprenticeship Training, (Southern Region), Chennai invites Online application from eligible Graduate/Diploma holders in Engineering (passed during 2016/2017/or 2018) for undergoing one year Apprenticeship training under the Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.
A. Category – I Graduate Apprentices
1. Information Technology
Qualification : A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by a Statutory University in relevant discipline. A Degree in Engineering or Technology granted by an Institution empowered to grant such degree by an Act of Parliament in relevant discipline. Graduate examination of Professional bodies recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.
No of Training Places : 02
Monthly Stipend : Rs.10000
B. Category II Technician (Diploma) Apprentices
1 Computer Engineering
Qualification : A Diploma in Engineering or technology granted by a State Council or Board of Technical Education established by a State Government in relevant discipline. A Diploma in Engineering or Technology granted by a University in relevant discipline. A Diploma in Engineering and Technology granted by an Institution recognised by the State Government or Central Government as equivalent to above.
No of Training Places : 02
Monthly Stipend : Rs.8000
Duration Of Training: The duration of Apprenticeship training will be for a period of one year as per Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973.
Minimum Physical Standards: As prescribed in Clause 4 of the Apprenticeship Rule 1992, and amendments thereof if any.
Previous Training/Experience: Candidates who have already undergone or are currently undergoing apprenticeship under Apprenticeship (Amendment) Act 1973, and/or having one year or more experience are not eligible to apply.
Selection Procedure: Shortlisting of candidates will be done based on the percentage of marks obtained in the basic prescribed qualification as applicable to the respective disciplines. Shortlisted candidates shall be intimated through their registered Email id. Shortlisted candidates have to appear for Certificate Verification at Board of Apprenticeship Training (SR), Chennai.

About Company
In pursuance of the recommendations of the Scientific Manpower Committee made about five decades ago, the erstwhile Ministry of Education, Government of India, initiated a `Practical Training Stipendiary Scheme' with the object of providing Practical Training to the fresh Engineering Graduates and Diploma Holders in Engineering. This scheme was directly administered by the Ministry of Education, Government of India at New Delhi, initially under this scheme, the industries/establishments, which took part on a voluntary basis, were requested to share the cost of stipend payable to the Apprentices equally.
