Job Description

Indian Air Force offers opportunities for UNMARRIED MALE INDIAN CITIZENS from designated districts of states of West Bengal & Sikkim to join as Airmen.

The Recruitment Test for Group Y (Non-Technical) [for Automobile Technician, Ground Training Instructor, Indian Air Force (Police) & Medical Assistant only] Trades will be held at 4 ASC (Near Palta Gate), Air Force Station Barrackpore, 24 Paragnas (North), West Bengal - 743122

Educational Qualification: (a) For Group Y (Non-Technical) Medical Assistant Trade. Candidate should have passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination with Physics, Chemistry, Biology and English with a minimum of 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

(b) For Group „Y‟ (Non-Technical) {Auto Tech, GTI & IAF(P) Trades}: Candidate should have passed Intermediate / 10+2 / Equivalent Examination in any stream/subjects approved by Central / State Education Boards with minimum 50% marks in aggregate and 50% marks in English.

Date of Birth Block. Candidates born between 07 July 1997 and 20 December 2000 (both days inclusive) are eligible to appear in the Recruitment Rally.

Tenure & Training: Enrolment is for an initial period of 20 years extendable up to the age of 57 years (subject to service conditions). Initially candidates will be sent for a Joint Basic Phase Training (JBPT) at Basic Training Institute, Belagavi (Karnataka). On successful completion of JBPT, candidates will be sent for trade training of specified duration. Training is however liable to be terminated at any time if the trainee fails to achieve the required standards in academics, profession, physical fitness and discipline or is found to be medically unfit. After Successful Completion Of Training, The Airmen Will Be Deployed On Ground Based Jobs As Per Their Allotted Trade. Allotted Trade Will Not Be Changed On Candidates Request On Any Grounds.

Pay & Allowances: During training, a stipend of Rs. 11,400/- per month will be paid. On completion of training the starting gross emoluments at the minimum of scale of pay including Grade Pay, Military Service Pay (MSP), and Dearness Allowance (DA) will be Rs. 23,535/- per month approximately) which, in subsequent years, may rise as per the career progression of the individual.
