Job Description
Indian Council of Medical Research (ICMR) invites application for the position Head- Division of NonCommunicable Diseases (NCD), ICMR Hqrs., New Delhi
Essential Qualification & experience:
(1) MD/MS/DNB or equivalent degree recognized by MCI Or First Class Master’s degree with Ph.D from a recognized University in any of the following subjects:
(i) Biochemistry
(ii) Economics with specialization in Health Economics
(iii) Biology/ Bioscience
(iv) Genetics/ Medical Genetics
(v) Immunology
(vi) Molecular Biology
(vii) Pharmacology
(viii) Biotechnology
3. Sixteen years R & D exp. in the relevant areas as mentioned above (preferably 5 years in a managerial position to handle R & D projects independently) including 2 years regular service in the pay Matrix level — 13-A or equivalence as per DoPT guidelines as amended from time to time
4. Note: out of above experience, five years should be in Managerial Research position viz., Pl or Co-PI of Scientific studies.
Duration of the contract: The initial appointment will be for a duration of 5 years or till superannuation, whichever is earlier. A second term for maximum of 5 years or till superannuation, whichever is earlier may be considered by a review committee, subject to fulfillment of eligibility criteria as per Recruitment Rules. During this tenure, if the incumbent is from ICMR, he/she will hold a lien of his/her substantive post at ICMR.
Age Limit: Upper age limit is 58 years. The crucial date for determining the age limit shall be as per the guidelines of Department of Personnel and Training issued from time to time. However, the prescribed age may be relaxedin exceptional cases for experienced and qualified candidates by DG, ICMR.
Application Fees: Application Fee (non-refundable) of Rs.1500/- (Rupees one thousand five hundred only) is required. SC/ST/Women/PWD/EWS candidates are exempted from application fee.
