Job Description
About the internship
Requirements -
1. Should be proficient in basics of Thermodynamics, Metallurgy, Chemical Kinetics, Reaction Mechanism, etc.
2. Should have hands-on experience of working in chemistry lab.
Day to day responsibilities -
1. Synthesize new ceramic-based heterogeneous catalyst using methods like co-precipitation, solid-state reaction, solution combustion, incipient wetness impregnation, etc.
2. Shaping the synthesized catalyst/ceramics into specific sizes and in the shape of spherical beads or extrudes or random granules using different/novel shaping techniques.
3. Understanding reaction mechanism, kinetics, and thermodynamics involved during the synthesis of the catalysts for various synthesis methods.
4. Developing and working on an in-house batch reaction setup to find the activity of the synthesized catalyst & catalyst poisoning
5. Scale-up of lab-scale synthesis setup to pilot scale.
6. Understanding the sintering of catalysts by studying the grain growth analysis and density measurement
7. Characterizing different promising catalyst candidates using methods/instruments like BET, XRD, XRF, XPS, chemisorption, ICPAES/ICPOES, density measurement, dilatometer, zeta potential analyzer, etc.
