Job Description
Research Associate-I Physics recruitment in Indian Association for the Cultivation of Science.
Department :Theoretical Physics
Essential Qualifications :A candidate should have a first class or a high second class B.Sc. & M.Sc. degrees in Physics with minimum average marks of 55% and has obtained Ph.D. or due to submit thesis within three months with research experience supported by publications in peer-reviewed journals in the field of particle physics phenomenology, namely physics beyond the standard model, collider physics, neutrino physics, dark matter and astroparticle physics. A candidate who is expected to submit his/her Ph.D. thesis within three months from the deadline for this application mentioned above may also apply while submitting a separate declaration letter given by the supervisor mentioning the above three-month time-limit. This has to be submitted by the candidate along with his/her application.

Fellowship: As per rules of IACS.
i) A selected candidate holding a Ph.D. degree at the time of joining will receive the fellowship of the RA-I position from the date of joining.
ii) A selected candidate who is yet to receive Ph.D. degree may join only after the submission of his/her thesis within the time-limit mentioned earlier subject to documentary proof of the thesis submission. Such candidates will draw a fellowship amount as appropriate to a bridge fellowship as per the rules of IACS and will be eligible to receive the full RA-I fellowship from the award date of the doctoral degree, supported by documentary proof.
Tenure of Fellowship: 2 years from the date of joining as RA-I / Bridge fellow, subject to an evaluation after one year as per the rules of the Institute.

Founded on July 29, 1876 by Dr Mahendra Lal Sircar, IACS is the oldest institute in India devoted to the pursuit of fundamental research in the frontier areas of basic sciences. Professor C V Raman worked at IACS during 1907 to 1933, and it is here that he discovered the celebrated Effect that bears his name and for which he was awarded Nobel Prize in Physics in 1930.
