Job Description
Ph.D. Admission conducts Indian Council of Agricultural Research (ICAR)
For AICE-SRF (PGS)-2016:
Eligibility: The candidates must have passed Master’s Degree programme in the concerned discipline securing Overall Grade Point Average of at least 6.50/10.00 scale, 3.25/5.00 scale, 2.60/4.00 scale for General, OBC and UPS Categories and 5.50/10.00, 2.75/5.00, 2.20/4.00 scale for SC/ST/PC categories, respectively. In other cases, where grade-points are not awarded and only marks are awarded, the candidate must have secured at least 60% marks for General, OBC and UPS Category. For SC/ST/PC candidates, the minimum percentage of marks will be 50%. The equivalence between OGPA and percent marks, where needed, will not be acceptable. Candidates must complete the postgraduate degree in all respects and produce the degree-completion certificate from the Registrar to this effect on/before 30th June, 2016 or the date of counseling, whichever is later, failing which they will not be considered for admission and the award of fellowship. The offline counseling is expected to be held after 3rd week of July, 2016.
The fellowship would be granted only when the candidate seeks admission through counseling conducted by ICAR and pursues Ph.D. degree in an Agricultural University (AU) except an ICAR-DU where 100% seats will be filled up through its own separate national level entrance examination. The candidate must pursue Ph.D. degree in an AU other than the one from where he/she has obtained Bachelor’s or Master’s degree. The candidates who have already joined Ph.D. should not have completed two years as on the date of examination. The above condition will also apply to in-service candidates.
Age limit : 30 years for General/ UPS category candidate as on 22nd May, 2016, the date of examination.
