Job Description
ICRISAT seeks applications from Indian nationals for the post of Senior Assistant-Controlled Environment Research Facilities. The position will be based at Patancheru, India and is open for Indian nationals only.
1. Post Name: Senior Assistant - Controlled Environment Research Facilities.
2. Responsibilities:
a. Operate the facilities- glass houses, plant growth chambers, dew chambers, polyhouses, evaporator coolers, water pumps, water treatment equipment, material pasteurization, spare parts/store management, etc.
b. Execute daily work schedule, ensure records are maintained, provide regular feedback to unit supervisor.
c. Inspect, Repair and maintenance of glass house coolers, water pumps, water sumps, quality of water supplying to Coolers and pumps etc.
d. Record keeping of maintenance and repair activities of all CERF equipment.
e. Repair and maintenance of all mechanical, electrical and electronic equipment for better functioning.
f. Assist in upgrading CERF with improvements and modifications of facilities to fulfill the research requirement.
g. Adhere to all safety guidelines & protocols.by project stakeholders. Attend the donor meetings as and when required.
h. Exchange the technical knowledge among the team for enhancing skills and simplify repair activities.
i. Gather information from facility users about issues with their equipment’s for better understanding of operations and maintenance of facilities for continuous improvement.
j. Fulfill all the commitments on time with the high-quality delivery/standards.
k. Take technical initiatives to maintain the overall facilities of CERF.
l. Prepare the inventory for CERF to ensure timely completion of repair services
3. Competencies:
a. Should demonstrate very good team spirit & client orientation.
b. Engage with inter-disciplinary teams in multi-cultural environment
c. Knowledge on Air conditioners is added advantage
d. Must possess 1st Class Electrical certificate
e. Should have basic computer skills.
f. Possessing a valid RTA license (2 wheelers and LMV)
4. Qualification and Experience: Full time Diploma in Electronics/ Electrical engineering with at least 5 years’ of relevant experience in Conviron or any other plant growth chambers, glass houses is preferable.
5. This appointment is initially for three years.
