General Manager - Brij Disa Centre for Data Science and Artificial Intelligence

2. Job Description:
i. The candidate is expected to spend 50% of the time on administration and another 50% on research. The individual will be involved in working closely with industry and academic partners to drive the activities of the centre.
ii. Along with carrying out independent research on topics/themes that are aligned with the centre’s vision, for instance, sample survey, operations research and optimization, statistics, machine learning, graph theory and networks, and its application.
iii. The General Manager will be responsible for conducting an annual survey to understand and project the adoption of data science and AI in the country, identify the pitfalls, and suggest policy measure to support and sustain the growth.
iv. The Centre would provide necessary support to the individual for carrying out and presenting research, including funding for data collection, fieldwork related travel, etc. as per Institute policy.
v. The General Manager will also have to create a monthly communique from the Centre to take stock of activities within the Centre and recent trends and developments in data science and AI in industry and academia, both within India and globally
3. Qualification & Experience Requirement:
i. Master’s or Ph.D. from a reputed Institute or University in India or abroad, specializing in data science and artificial intelligence (defined broadly).
ii. Minimum 9 years of post-qualification experience is needed, which can be relaxed for exceptional candidates. Prior publications in conferences or journals are preferred.
iii. A good network in the analytics industry with an experience in administration will be an add-on.
iv. We also encourage fresh PhD candidates to apply for this position, who would like to distribute their time between research and administration.
4. Salary & Allowances:
Selected candidate will be offered a fixed term appointment for a period of two years on a consolidated monthly salary on CTC mode, which may be extended for further period as required. Salary will not be a constraint for the deserving candidate and will be commensurate with the candidate’s profile and experience
Age Limit:
Maximum 50 years as on last date of Application. Institute provide age relaxation as per GOI rules. Additional 5 years’ age relaxation is given to the women candidates.
