Job Description
The Centre for Management in Agriculture (CMA) at Indian Institute of Management Ahmedabad (IIMA) is inviting applications for a Research Associate position.
1. Name of the Post: Research Associate Social sciences
2. Job Description: The selected candidate would be required to work on project/s related to the areas of rural and agricultural systems. It may require travelling to various parts of India for field work and data collection. The candidate should be able to conduct primary surveys, manage and analyse data and do high quality report writing.
3. Qualifications:
a) Candidate must have a Master’s Degree in Development Studies/Management Sciences/Social sciences such as Economics/Agricultural Economics/Development Economics/Statistics, or any other related field with relevant experience.
b) Fresh candidates with outstanding academic achievements are also encouraged to apply.
c) Good analytical skills and basic computing are mandatory. Knowledge of econometrics or advanced statistical analysis will be an advantage.
d) Candidate should have the ability to get connected well with rural India.
e) Candidate should have very good oral and written communication skills in English.
f) Experience of working with research based think tanks or academic institutions will be useful.
4. Project Tenure: The appointment is purely temporary up to one year and can be extended depending on the performance or requirements of CMA.
5. Location: The selected candidate will be working from IIM Ahmedabad campus. However, given the covid-19 situation, the candidate may be permitted to work from home temporarily. IIMA provides access to the library and computer center for all the Research Associates. If selected, the candidate is expected to manage their own accommodation outside the IIMA campus which is centrally located within the city of Ahmedabad.
6. Compensation: The selected candidate will be offered a monthly consolidated salary based on qualifications and prior experience. No other allowances except TA/DA for official travel will be paid.
