Job Description
Applications are invited from the citizens of India for Research Assistant position in the GAIL (India) Limited sponsored R&D project undertaken under the Department of Chemical Sciences, IISER Kolkata. This temporary position is for a period of 6 months till the completion of the project. The requisite qualification, experience, etc. are given below:
1. Position: Research Assistant
2. Number of Vacancy: One
3. Funding Agency: GAIL (India) Limited
4. Job description: The Research Assistant will be involved in synthesis of nanomaterials and evaluating their electro catalytic performance. The candidate will actively participate in the research work while remaining involved in all complimentary activities related to the project.
5. Eligibility: Motivated candidates with minimum 5 years research experience post M.Sc. (Chemistry), in the field of Solid State Chemistry / Materials Chemistry and consistently good academic record can apply. Prior experience in solution-based nanomaterial synthesis, fabrication of self-supported electrodes and characterization through powder X-ray diffraction, electron microscopy and other related techniques are required. The candidate should be experienced in XRD simulations, microscopic analysis and operating instruments such as electrochemical workstation. The candidate is expected to have at least 4 first author publications.
6. Salary: Rs. 30,000/- per month (consolidated)
