Job Description
IIT Dharwad is an Institute of National Importance created by an Act of Parliament in 2016. IIT Dharwad has been steadily establishing its operations in its present campus while at the same time, master plan development and construction of permanent campus infrastructure are also in progress. The Institute is employing bright young and accomplished faculty and staff members. To cater the Institute’s temporary requirement under a project in the Department of Electrical Engineering; IIT Dharwad intends to hold an Online Selection Process for the following temporary position:
1. Post Name: Project Associate-I
2. No. of Post: 01
3. Essential Qualification: B. Tech or M. Tech degree in Electrical Engineering (or allied stream). [As per guidelines issued by Department of Science and Technology vide OM no. SR/S9/Z-05/2019 dated 21 August 2019]
4. Desirable qualification: A strong interest and aptitude for Power Electronics with emphasis on design and control of power converters, grid-tied systems and design of magnetics. Ability to design and develop hardware prototypes and experience with bench-top testing and hands-on circuit debugging is highly desirable.
5. Consolidated Emoluments: Rs. 31,000 per month + 18% House Rent Allowance
6. Duration of the project Max. 36 months
7. Tenure of appointment The appointment for the above contractual position will be initially for 03 (three) months, which can be further extended subject to satisfactory performance, availability of funds in the project and requirement in the project.
8. Project Code and Title: EE/AM/TiHAN/2021/8.57 Module 3: Development of Power-Line Interface System to Power a Transmission-Line Inspection Robot from a Live Transmission Line Conductor
9. Job Description: Modelling, Simulation and analysis of magnetic coupling interface for the proposed solution (including current transformer design, winding design, dynamic modelling, etc) Hardware design for bench-top validation at laboratory scale: prototyping of magnetics, design of converters, electrical stress analyses, FEA, etc Development of scaled-up concept demonstrator of the proposed hardware, test-bed development, performance testing and measurement.

Not exceeding 35 years as on the date of selection process.
