Job Description
Applications are invited from the bright, young and qualified candidates for the Project entitled “Multi-physics simulation of structural systems under fire”.
1. Name of the post: Post-doctoral Fellow
2. Duration: 1 Year. extendable to one more year based on performance.
3. Remuneration: INR 50,000/- per month plus HRA (if on campus accommodation is not available)
4. Qualification: Doctoral degree in relevant area obtained within the last two years. Those who have submitted their theses can also apply.
5. Job Description: The successful candidate will plan and carry out multi-physics simulations of structural systems subjected to fire. The work will involve understanding fundamental physical phenomena such as heat transfer, moisture transfer and inelastic deformations of structural systems through physical idealizations, mathematical formulation and computer simulations.
A strong background in mathematics, mechanics, thermodynamics, and programming is required. Exposure to using open source simulation packages (like Fire Dynamics Simulator, Uintah, OpenFOAM, etc.) is desirable. Proficiency in commercial finite element packages (e.g. ANSYS, ABAQUS, etc.) is a plus.
