Indian Institute of Technology Roorkee (IIT Roorkee) invites application for the position Project Fellow
Title of project: Aerodynamic design of ballistic helmet for blast attenuation
Project position(s) and number: Project Fellow (01 No.). Position will he converted to 'Research or Project Associate' if suitable candidate for Project Fellow is not found.
Qualifications:
i) For Project Fellow:
(a) PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Mechanics or equivalent 2 years experience after PhD
(b) MTech or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied .Mechanics + 3 years experience
(c) BTech OT equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Mechanics + 6 years' experience Degrees in Aerospace or Civil or other engineering disciplines may bc considered for research areas consistent with the academic and project background.
ii) For Research or Project Associate:
(d) PhD in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Mechanics or equivalent
(e) MTech or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Mechanics
(f) B Tech or equivalent degree in Mechanical Engineering or Applied Mechanics Degrees in Aerospace or Civil or other engineering disciplines may be considered research areas consistent with lhe academics and project background.
Emoluments: commensurate with the experience HRA;
Duration: 1 year and extendable upto the duration of the project
Job description: Project involves work in the area of computational mechanics. Following skills are desired:
(a) Proficiency in FEA softwares such as LS-Dyna or Abaqus.
(b) Strong background in blast or ballistic or impact mechanics and computational modeling.
(c) Strong background in constitutive modeling and/or damage modeling.
(d) God writing. communication. and managerial skills Fellow will be mentored by Prof. Shailesh Ganpule, IIT Roorkee.
